Tidal Power
Why use tidal power?
Energy Demands

- Can contribute to the rising demands for electricity
- Could power houses and businesses as well as factories and other power plants
- Lessen the demand for nonrenewable resources
Less Emissions

- The burning of fossil fuels releases greenhouse and acid gasses into the atmosphere
- The tides are a renewable and clean source of energy
- Will not generate or emit harmful emissions
Consistency
- The tides are based on the moon's rotation and are predictable
- Solar and wind power are not as consistent
- Can provide almost constant energy throughout the day
Energy use is a big problem, but what can we do about it?
It is a daunting task to try and find solution to our many energy problems. But the truth is there is no "one solution." We can't just rely on one or two forms of alternative energy, we have to find many ways to diversify our energy sources. One way to do this is with tidal power.

Our world is a water planet; with two-thirds of the Earth covered in water, it is our most abundant resource. So why don't we use it? As humans we have no problem using nonrenewable forms of energy like fossil fuels, so we shouldn't have a problem using resources that won't run out. It is time to start making changes.

Tidal energy is not the answer to all of our energy problems, and it will not be able to power the whole world. But what it can do is make us less dependent on fossil fuels and gas. It can help pave the path to a society focused on renewable resources and less detrimental forms of consumption.
